We are the Robins Class!
Our Nursery here at Springvale Primary School provides a nurturing, safe and exciting learning environment where all children begin their learning journey through play, exploration and discovery. We believe that young children learn best when they are happy, safe and inspired, our classroom provides a warm, welcoming space where every child is valued and encouraged to grow, developing a love for learning from the very start.
Our Robins will follow our school motto ‘#play together #learn together #achieve together’ Through shared experiences, collaborative play, supportive friendships, children will develop confidence, curiosity and independence. We have two class mascots our adorable robins ‘Robbie & Rosie’ who get to share some adventures with the children each week.
Learning Through Play
Our learning is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and focuses strongly on play-based learning. Through carefully planned activities and child led exploration we encourage children to develop the three key Characteristics of Effective Learning:
- Playing and Exploring-children investigate, explore and try new things
- Active Learning-children concentrate, keep trying and enjoy their achievements
- Creative and Thinking Critically- children develop their own ideas, make links and solve problems
Our classroom provides a rich range of opportunities both indoors and outdoors where children can explore, imagine, create and learn together. In Nursery we love being outdoors and believe that nature is an important part of learning. We go outdoors whatever the weather!

Working Together
We value strong partnerships with families and believe that learning continues beyond the classroom. By working together, we support every child in developing skills, confidence and curiosity they need to flourish.
