Vortex - Springvale School
We believe that a uniform helps children to be ready to learn and promotes a sense of standards. It is essential that all children wear the school uniform. Please note that our new school logo has been introduced from September 2019 onto all branded items. All former versions will still be allowed in school but the new style logo is encouraged. We have a pre-loved uniform in the main entrance area of school so please help yourselves to this and bring back any uniform that you don’t want. The approved school uniform includes:
A plain navy sweatshirt or cardigan. We would recommend buying at least one which has the school logo for school visits and class photographs day.
A blue Springvale Fleece (optional) with a logo.
A plain white, sky blue or navy polo shirt.
Trousers - black, grey or navy - no jeans, combats or cropped trousers.
Pinafore - black grey or navy
Smart, comfortable, black school shoes. Shoes should be free from branding and visible logos (including Nike 'ticks'). No trainers are allowed in school as a substitute for school shoes. In the event that children come to school in wellington boots or leather boots due to bad weather, they will need to bring their school shoes with them in their bag.
When appropriate due to warm weather:
- Blue checked or striped summer dresses with blue or white socks
- Black or grey formal school shorts (no casual shorts)
NOTES:
T-shirts and tracksuit tops are not acceptable.
No jewelry, including earrings - this includes plastic ear spacers which are just as dangerous. Any piercings should be done at the start of the summer holidays so that they can heal over the 6 week break. Jewelry cannot be worn on 'non-uniform' days either.
Children with long hair may be asked to tie it back during some PE sessions or DT sessions.
Sensible and safe watches can be worn in Key stage 2 (Y3-6) - School will make every effort to keep these safe but ultimately they are at the owner's risk.
No nail varnish on fingers or toes.
No artwork or 'pretend tattoos to be on display.
PE Kit
PE shirt mathcing your team colour (branded and unbranded available to buy from Vortex)
Plain black or blue shorts
Trainers
Sports socks in black
Simple black pumps (optional)
No football shirts or shorts
Outdoor PE does take place even if it is cold so children may wear a warm sweatshirt and jogging bottoms or tracksuit top over their usual PE kit. These should be dark in colour (ideally black or navy) and different to the school unform jumper.
Please note that children will be given a branded school water bottle when they join Springvale - if you require an additional water bottle, these can be purchased via the 'School Shop' on your child's SchoolMoney account or by visiting the school office.
