Remote Education Information

Remote Education Provision

At our school, we are committed to ensuring that all pupils continue to receive a high-quality education in circumstances where attending school in person is not possible.

Remote education may be provided in situations including:

  • Short-term school closures

  • Exceptional circumstances affecting attendance

  • Individual pupil absence due to medical or other agreed reasons

Remote education is intended to support continuity of learning and maintain pupils’ engagement with the curriculum.

Accessing Remote Learning

Pupils will access remote learning through:

  • Online learning platforms such as Microsoft Teams / Google Classroom / Seesaw

  • Email communication

  • School website learning resources

  • Printed learning packs where necessary

Parents and carers will receive clear instructions on how to access learning materials and support their child at home.

Expectations for Learning

Teachers will provide work that:

  • Follows the school curriculum

  • Is age appropriate and meaningful

  • Includes a range of subjects

  • Provides opportunities for feedback and interaction

Pupils are expected to:

  • Engage with learning activities daily

  • Complete work to the best of their ability

  • Maintain regular communication with staff where appropriate

Support for Pupils with SEND

We recognise that some pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) may require additional support to access remote learning.

Where appropriate, learning activities will be adapted to meet individual needs and school staff will work closely with families to provide suitable support.

Safeguarding and Online Safety

Safeguarding remains our highest priority during remote education.

Pupils are expected to use online platforms safely, respectfully, and responsibly. Parents and carers are encouraged to supervise online learning where possible.

Any safeguarding concerns should be reported immediately to the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Access to Technology

We understand that access to devices or internet connectivity may present challenges for some families.

Parents and carers experiencing difficulties accessing remote learning should contact the school office so that support can be discussed where possible.

Communication with Parents and Carers

The school will continue to communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding:

  • Remote learning arrangements

  • Pupil engagement

  • Wellbeing support

  • Any changes to provision
