PE and Sport Premium

The Primary PE and Sport Premium is additional government funding provided to primary schools in England to improve the quality of physical education (PE), physical activity and sport. The aim is to help schools build sustainable improvements that benefit all pupils, encouraging healthy, active lifestyles and developing a lifelong enjoyment of sport and physical activity.

At our school, we use this funding to enhance the provision and experience of PE for every child. This includes improving staff confidence and subject knowledge, offering a broader range of sports and activities, increasing participation in competitive sport and promoting active lifestyles across the school day.

We are committed to ensuring that all pupils develop physical competence, confidence and a positive attitude towards being active. The funding supports us in creating inclusive opportunities so that every child, regardless of ability, can take part and succeed.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

To ensure the funding has a clear and measurable impact, we focus on the following key indicators:

  • Increase all staff’s confidence, knowledge and skills in teaching PE and sporting activities

  • Increase all pupils’ engagement in regular physical activity and sporting activities

  • Raise the profile of PE and sport across the school, supporting whole-school improvement

  • Offer a broader and more equal experience of a range of sports and physical activities to all pupils, ensuring equal access for boys and girls

  • Increase participation in competitive sport

Each year, we review these priorities alongside pupil voice and assessment data to ensure the funding continues to make a meaningful difference to pupils’ health, wellbeing and achievement in PE and sport.
